Design Brief

Vitalize Chocolate is a conceptual brand that produces quality chocolate with a healthy, plant based, sustainable energy component to help you wake up and get you back to what you love doing. Whether it’s running a marathon, working out in the gym, or staying awake in class we’ve got a snack to get you in the zone for whatever activity comes up.

The brand’s essence, “Energy you can taste,” is derived from the great flavor of chocolate plus the boost of energy that you get following it. It’s for those who love working out but need a little boost without wanting coffee sloshing around on their stomach on a run or the taste of battery acid adjacent energy drinks flavor left in their mouth.

Design Solution

The packaging solution uses tasteful gradients along with staggered and simple shapes to imply motion akin to a run or heavy workout. Consistent throughout is the top lockup of type serving for showcasing the brand logo in yellow to evoke energy, the flavor of the chocolate, the caffeine included text, and the percentage of cocoa that is within the bar. Next follows the graphic representing each flavor of the bar.

The original “Pure dark” flavor, the branching point of the others, uses yellow and orange. The “Salted Caramel” uses yellow, orange, and red locked up within diamond shapes to differentiate. And the “Sea Salt” uses yellow, green, and blue with circles to be more reminiscent of sea foam. All bars display on a black background that would push the colors and pattern sections forward towards the consumer on a store shelf.

She loves anything that tastes good, looks cool, and helps her keep up with his busy routine.

Goals:

  • Get a quick energy boost without getting in trouble at school
  • Fit in socially with friends through fun and trendy products
